Hello! I am an American and a native English speaker, recently arrived in Düsseldorf. My husband is a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute and I am writing my doctoral dissertation in dramatic literature. Before I began my Ph.D. program, I was a nanny in New York City. I took care of children ages 6 months to 12 years, and I took pride in treating my charges with respect and kindness. I remain close with several of the families I worked for-- one of the children I cared for even attended my wedding this year! I love to teach, and I have experience working in a variety of classroom settings, including kindergarten, high school, and college. I taught writing and theatre at Cornell University in New York, theatre and philosophy at the North Carolina Governor's School, and literacy/reading at PS 256 kindergarten in Brooklyn.
