Annelotte’s Experience as a Trainee (PR)

What exactly do you do at
I started working at as an intern and was then taken on as a trainee. I work in the PR department and write articles for our online magazine. In addition, I manage everything to do with social media for the German speaking. This includes our sites on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and YouTube, the development of new content, competitions etc. Funny cat videos aren’t all that matter in social networks! ;-)

What lead you to apply here?
After my studies in Journalism, I was looking for an internship as a first step in the direction of the world of work. In my search for suitable tenders, I came across the PR internship at The “10 reasons to work with us” article on their website completely convinced me that I would like to work there. Now I can confirm these reasons firsthand.

What do you make of the working atmosphere at
From day one I was so excited by how open and friendly everyone was. I never had the feeling of being any old intern at the bottom of the food chain. It’s quite the opposite: Because the hierarchies within the teams are so flat, from the beginning I was able to write an article for our magazine, and after a short time I was given even more tasks and responsibilities. Copying and making coffee aren’t a part of it ;-). The regular company events are the icing on the cake. It’s so important to enjoy coming to work every day, and I do!

What do you get up to while you’re not working at
In my free time I do sport and regularly go jogging. You will also find me at the flea markets, at a Lord of the Rings marathon with friends, or in the open air cinema.

What advice would you give other applicants hoping to start at
It won’t do you any harm if you take a close look at our website and also our magazine. Also make sure you already know about our two most important concepts: seekers (families looking for a helper) and providers (the carers on our platform).

What future prospects do you see for yourself at
Naturally, I hope to be able to stay on here once I am done with my traineeship. I have to make sure that we have a million Facebook fans!
